Life Garden originally began in 1989 with David and Su Ling Oliphant improvising an array of acoustic instruments, synthesizers, and samplers to the ground of George Dillon spoken poesy. Tragically, by the fourth dimension Life Garden's first base record album, Caught Between the Tapestry of Silence and Beauty, came out in 1991, Dillon had passed off from the results of a tenderness attack. The band would continue on with the addition of noisemakers Peter Ragan and Bill Yanok as Life Garden progressed with their usance of Buddhist and Tantric influences set to digital machination. This sound would be captured on the albums Pry Open My Mouth With the Red Knife of Heaven (1992) and Seed (1993). With Yanok's divergence in 1995, the work load of Life Garden slowed down as their 1996 album Ahitanaman was followed by only iI live performances in the yoke of deuce days. The inactiveness finally resulted in Life Garden's breakup in 1999.
